Lebanon: the Italian "blue helmets" train local police units in Shama with theoretical and practical lessons

Maintaining public order and techniques of crowd control, establishment of checkpoints, breaking into buildings, searches and arrest procedures through handcuffing techniques, but also recognition of explosive devices, procedures for securing areas urbanized and first aid interventions on traumatized subjects.

These are the main phases of the "Law enforcement basic course", a training activity organized by the "blue helmets" of the Italian UNIFIL contingent in favor of the agents of the Internal security forces, police unit entrusted with tasks of public order in the country.

Divided into theoretical and practical lessons, the course was held at the "Millevoi" base of Shama in order to improve the preparation and efficiency of the local police forces, increase their interoperability and coordination with the Lebanese armed forces .

The various phases of the course were followed by the police of the base of the military police, with the help of specialized units of the genius and the medical personnel of the contingent.

Very lively satisfaction with the outcome of the course was expressed by the commander of Sector West and by the commander of the Internal security forces from southern Lebanon who attended the award ceremony for participation certificates.
