In the last days, at the AS-SAMAIYAH training center, the second basic course of Counter Sniping started last February 15, conducted by a Mobile Training Team of the Cesano School of Infantry of Rome in favor of military 15 from various Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) departments.

The instructors of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) - in 4 weeks of intense work through theoretical and practical lessons - transmitted the basic notions of Counter Sniping to visitors, in order to train shooters able to act in all operational contexts, both urban and deserted or wooded.

Il Counter Sniping it is a very large and continuously developing subject. The sniper's primary ability to identify, study and neutralize an objective can not be separated from its ability to blend in with its surroundings, to identify and approach the target in an occult manner, to engage it at maximum distances, minimizing the risks of involvement of the civilian population.

During the closing ceremony of the course, the col. Maurizio Settesoldi, commander of MIBIL, pointed out that "with the military 25 trained in the 2015 and with those in this course, the planned training goals have been achieved and the increased long-distance shooting capabilities demonstrated by Lebanese military is evident testimony that we are on the right track and on this we must continue our journey.
