The Italian soldiers operating under the aegis of the United Nations have concluded an exercise called "COMBINEX 2017" aimed at testing the procedures that regulate the safety of the UN P 1-26 Base of Al Mansouri and the medical evacuation of wounded. The exercise involved all the staff of the "ITALBATT" Task Force based on the Genoa Cavalleria regiment (4 °).

The planning and conduct were carried out in coordination with the UNIFIL Command - Sector West led by the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade, with the aim of ensuring a high level of preparation of the operational assets and the command post of the task force in the case of serious events such as explosions or fires in the context of a possible resumption of hostilities in southern Lebanon.

The complex scenario adopted for the exercise made it possible to use all the operational structures dedicated to extreme emergency situations: emergency medical teams (Mobile Medical Teams), fire-fighting teams (Fire Fighting Teams), the reserve of task force (Battalion Mobile Reserve) and the Explosives Search Team (EOD / IEDD Team). The exercise also made it possible to put into practice the procedures that would allow the civilian population to be received in the event of serious emergencies and therefore it would be necessary to provide health support and protection.

The exercise, which also saw the involvement of the Serbian platoon charged with guaranteeing the Force Protection of the Base, had a very positive outcome and confirmed the level of promptness and ability to respond requested by the mission.
