24/06/15

The ITALAIR Task Force was activated for a medical evacuation (CASEVAC casualty evacuation) for the recovery, by helicopter, of a French UNIFIL military with suspected cerebral ischemia in southern Lebanon.

As soon as 5 minutes after the activation the Italian helicopter, with on board the medical staff (AMET - Air Medical Team) of French nationality, reached the place for the emergency where the patient who had already been stabilized on the spot was boarded. .

After a flight of about 30 minutes, the Italian aircraft landed, with the help of night vision goggles, on the roof of the skyscraper that houses the St. George Hospital in Beirut for the care of the case. From executive activation to the release of the patient to the hospital, they spent about 45 minutes, extremely precious time in situations of very serious emergency like this.

The emergency air evacuation service is provided uninterruptedly by day and night by the ITALAIR Task Force, with a readiness of 30 minutes to take off.
