On March 15, the Italian Blue Helmets of the UNIFIL West Sector donated health devices (masks, sanitizers, protective gloves, protective suits, Kit Tampons) to the Government Hospital and the Social Development Center of Bint Jubail.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of Colonel Vito Nitti, chief of staff of the West Sector, representing Brigadier General Massimiliano Stecca, the mayor of Bint Jubail, dr. Abdulmajid Afif Bazzi and the director of the hospital dott. Tawfic Farj.

“Thanks to this donation and your commitment - said the hospital director in his speech - the population of the municipality of Bint Jubail, with particular reference to the weaker groups, will be able to prevent and fight more effectively the contagion from COVID-19, a plague that is afflicting not only Lebanon but the whole world, health is the primary good which cannot be renounced ".

The project is part of the intervention and essential support activities for the civil environment in the health sector, aimed at reducing and contrasting the COVID-19 virus.

The project is added to many others, coordinated and conducted by the G9 cell (Civil and Military Cooperation) of the UNIFIL Sector West headquarters.
