(To UNIFIL)
24/11/17

The third edition of the course called "Basic Fire Observation" was launched at the base of Shama, the headquarters of the West Side of UNIFIL, to provide guidance to the Lebanese armed forces (LAF) for observing and adjusting the curved fire.

The attendants participated in theoretical-practical lessons relating to topography and distance estimation, observation, identification and designation of targets, shooting adjustment techniques and communications between the observer and the deployment, and also performing simulations in the classroom through a CAX - Computer-Assisted Exercise.

The activity ended with a blank exercise, during which the acquired knowledge was put into practice.

The consistent increase in the number of participants, this edition was attended by 2 officers and 8 non-commissioned officers of the 5th brigade, is the demonstration of the considerable interest and importance that the Lebanese armed forces have devoted to this highly technical and qualifying targeted activity to acquire ever greater and concrete operational skills.
