In the basis of the 3rd intervention regiment the closing ceremony of the course took place in Beirut Sharpshooter Basic and Advanced - Train The Trainer, an intense nine-week training activity, conducted by a Mobile Training Team composed of instructors in force at the Infantry School of the Italian Army.
The closing ceremony of the course was held in the presence of the commander of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), Colonel Angelo Sacco and Brigadier General Ghanem Hani, commander of 3rd intervention regiment Lebanese.
The course allowed to qualify 6 junior trainers and train about 30 units of the Lebanese regiment. Attendees learned concepts and procedures for successfully hitting targets positioned up to 500 meters, first using the supplied assault rifle and subsequently, in the phase Advanced of course, using the sniper rifle from Sharpshooter.
Since this was a very selective training activity, only six visitors obtained the title of junior trainer, while the others in any case completed the training course which allowed them to acquire the basic techniques to carry out a precision shot on medium and long distances.
The results achieved by the staff 3rd intervention regiment, with the contribution of MIBIL personnel, further consolidate the link between the Italian Armed Forces and the Lebanese Armed Forces.
All the activities carried out in the operational theater are conducted under the coordination and according to the directives given by the operational command of interforce forces (COVI).
