It was held in Bint Jbeil, in the presence of Brigadier General Rodolfo Sganga, commander of the West Sector Unifil with Italian leadership on a brigade paratroopers basis thunderbolt, a ceremony for the inauguration of two important projects realized through the funds of the Italian Civil-Military Cooperation.
In particular, it involved the supply and installation of new road signs and the replacement of other deteriorated signs and the supply and installation in the Bint Jbeil Union Prefecture Building of the photovoltaic lighting system.
These projects, born from the requests of the President of the Union of Municipalities of Bint Jbeil, ing. Atallah Chaeyto, and the Qaimaqam of Bint Jbeil, prof. Khalil Dbouk, contribute to make, in addition to energy savings through the use of photovoltaic panels, a significant improvement in the efficiency of the road network, improving the safety conditions for the local population.
UNIFIL has had since the early years of its deployment in the 1978, a strong humanitarian inclination in addressing the consequences of wars and occupation in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL contingents such as the Italian-led contingent in the Western sector of South Lebanon provide medical, dental, veterinary and other assistance and conduct various training programs for people in areas such as IT, languages, pizza production, knitwear, yoga, taekwondo and many others.
