Lebanon: rotation of the Combat Service Support Battalion

It was held in the Millevoi base of Shama, headquarters of the headquarters of the Italian blue helmets in Lebanon, the rotation ceremony of the Combat Service Support Battalion (CSS Bn).

Col. Alessandro Tassi, commander of the Pozzuolo del Friuli logistic regiment of Remanzacco (Udine), took over from Colonel Santo Saitta, commander of the Palermo regimental regiment of Palermo.

Brigadier General Francesco Olla, commander of the Joint Task Force - Lebanon, who attended the military rotation ceremony, underlined the work done by the Remanzacco military for the support provided to the whole UNIFIL sector, as well as the importance of the units logistics in the various operations.

In the past six months of work, the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" logistic regiment assured ground and sea movements to the personnel of the Italian contingent, managing the supplies and ensuring the efficiency of the vehicle and equipment fleet.

With the health component, moreover, the Regiment participated in the realization of multiple activities in support of the CIMIC (Civil Military Cooperation) component and guaranteed assistance to important medical care interventions in favor of the local population, one of the main tasks among those sanctioned by the United Nations Security Council Resolution no. 1701.
