Lebanon: the crowd and riot control (CRC) course organized by the carabinieri has started

22/04/15

On Monday, at the Training Center of AS SAMAYAH (Lebanon), a second training cycle was started in favor of the Lebanese armed forces (Lebanese Armed Forces LAF), held by soldiers of the Carabinieri from the 2 ^ Mobile Brigade of Livorno and by 13 ° Friuli Venezia Giulia Regiment, for teaching crowd management and riot control techniques (CRC).

The course is part of the Italian Bilateral Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), deployed by 28 in January, with the task of organizing, conducting and coordinating all national training and consulting activities to be carried out both in Lebanon and in Italy in order to to contribute to the strengthening of the Lebanese Armed Forces / Security Forces (LAF). This activity is part of the initiatives connected to the "International Support Group for Lebanon" (ISG), headed by the United Nations.

The training is aimed at the personnel of the Lebanese Security Forces assigned to the management of public order, and will consist of four weeks of theoretical and practical lessons. On the program there are theoretical lessons, such as the study of the fundamental principles concerning human rights and crowd psychology, and practical sessions dedicated to the use of the equipment used in public order activities (shields and personal protections, tonfa, gas masks etc. .). Visitors will therefore learn how to properly approach situations of potential danger to public order, how to control crowds and operate in organized and coordinated teams. The practical phases in fact include simulations of confrontation with the mob, through mediation and, when necessary, containment.

Furthermore, a “Course for military rescuer” was recently concluded, carried out by soldiers from the Italian Army School of Health, which met with the gratitude and appreciation of the military leaders of the host country.
