In August the ITALBATT Task Force of the Italian UNIFIL contingent, currently based on the "Genova Cavalleria" Regiment (4 '), conducted and completed a joint training cycle with the French contingent, framed in the Force Commander Reserve (FCR) .

The joint training with the French army saw the two armed forces confront each other on operational, theoretical and practical issues, aimed at the familiarization and standardization of procedures in the field of operational activities on Lebanese territory.

These types of exercises, in addition to favoring a profitable osmosis of experiences, are part of the wider project aimed at creating a fundamental cohesion between the armed forces of the 39 nations that currently make up the multicultural environment of the UNIFIL mission.

The main tasks assigned to the contingents by the United Nations 1701 Resolution are monitoring the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel, support for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and support for local institutions, tasks that the Italian contingent, led by the general Salvatore Cuoci, commander of the Sector West of UNIFIL, has been performing daily since April.
