Lebanon: 7 ° advanced course for patrol commanders

27/07/15

 - The ITALBATT Task Force of the Italian contingent of UNIFIL, currently based on the "Genova Cavalleria" Regiment (4th), has completed the 7th advanced course for patrol commanders in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

The theoretical and practical activity engaged 10 Lebanese army patrol commanders in tactical level exercises, such as the study of the mission, the standardization of Command and Control procedures (C2), crowd control, patrolling on foot and the management of a check point for personnel control.

The course is part of the broader program of support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, aimed at achieving total operational capacity south of the Litani River.

Support to the LAF is one of the main tasks assigned to UNIFIL by the UN 1701 Resolution, together with monitoring of the cessation of hostilities and support to local institutions: fundamental tasks that the Task Force ITALBATT, led by Colonel Giovanni Biondi, performs daily in scope of the "Leonte 18" operation.
