The Italian ambassador to Lithuania visits Nave Rizzo in the port of Klaipeda

The Italian ambassador to Vilnius, Emanuele de Maigret, accompanied by the defense attaché of the three Baltic Republics, Colonel Giovanni Trebisonda, visited Nave Rizzo parked in Klaipeda.

The unit, engaged in the Operation Brilliant Shield, is an integral part of the NATO force in the Baltic Sea.

Welcomed on board by Commander Catia Pellegrino, the ambassador then addressed a greeting to the crew, expressing his deep appreciation and gratitude for their commitment and efforts.

"It is a great honor to be on board a ship of the Italian Navy. Your commitment, your dedication and your courage are fundamental for security and stability in the Baltic region. I assure you that you can always count on the maximum support of the 'Italian Embassy in Vilnius and my staff. May you continue to sail safely and with the knowledge that your work, which costs you so much with the distance from home and your loved ones, is deeply appreciated".

During the day, Ambassador de Maigret had the opportunity to immerse himself in life on board and learn about its peculiarities by visiting the technical and operational rooms of the ship.
