During the morning of November 2, General Othman al-Ghanimi, chief of staff of the Iraqi Army visited the Mosul Dam.
The authority went to the offices of the Ministry of Water Resources, owner of the work to make the infrastructure safe. In that seat, in the presence of the commanders of the Iraqi units and the Coalition - represented by TF Praesidium - who operate in the area, the Iraqi High Officer was updated on the operational and security situation.
After highlighting the strategic importance of the project, general al-Ghanimi expressed his appreciation for the work done by the Italian contingent for the security of the dam and the hundreds of international workers who work there.
Subsequently, along the infrastructure site, the Iraqi Chief of Staff, after having inspected the main tunnels where the works are carried out, and having ascertained the safety device in place, congratulated the commander of the Praesidium for the high level of coordination and cooperation reached in a short time between the Alpine regiment of the 3 and the staff of the Mosul regiment of the Counter-Terrorism Service Iraqi responsible for the security of the Dam area.
As part of this mission, the Praesidium Task Force, with its 500 men and women of the Italian Army, guarantees the safety of the dam structure to avoid the risk of an environmental catastrophe.
