Task Force Erbil trains the Peshmerga on the use of artillery

The Italian trainers of the "Erbil" Task Force, led by the Italian-led multinational KTCC (Kurdish Training Coordination Center) command, began training on the use of artillery in favor of 21 peshmerga, at the request of Kurdish representatives of the MoP (Ministry of Peshmerga).

The training cycle is divided into 15 days of theoretical and practical activities, including the use of the D-30 artillery weapon system from 122 mm supplied with the Kurdish Security Forces, the topographic preparation for the orientation of the pieces of artillery in the deployment area, calculation of shooting data, radio communications for shooting observation and fire discipline.

The activity falls within the scope of the 6 ° training cycle in progress, aimed at the development of additional operational capabilities such as basic infantry training, knowledge of procedures against improvised explosive devices (counter IED), shooting training for precision with small arms and medical first aid.

The Kurdish Training Coordination Center, composed at the moment of about 530 men and women belonging to 7 Nations, has been training about 2500 Peshmerga since January, of which 1200 formed by the actual Italian 120 military to the "Erbil" TF.
