The Italian Air Force Task visits a school in Lithuania

A delegation of the Task Force Air (TFA) in Lithuania, operating since last 01 January 2015 in the Baltic area for airspace surveillance, visited the Gegužių pro-gymnasium school in the city of Šiauliai.

Also present at the event was a delegation from the Polish Air Force.

The students, all aged between 9 and 14 years, presented their country to the NATO military illustrating its history, traditions and culture. It was then the turn of the same military to present both the operational activities that daily play in the Lithuanian skies that their respective countries.

The col. Marco Bertoli, commander of the TFA, in his presentation, explained to the students how the Air Force guarantees in Lithuania, 7 days on 7, the Air Defense service.

The Air Task Force deployed in Lithuania ensures, with the Eurofighter Typhoons of the 4 ° Stormo di Grosseto, the 36 ° Stormo di Gioia del Colle and the 37 ° Stormo di Trapani Birgi, the surveillance of the airspace throughout the Baltic area.

The presentation ended with the illustration of Italy in general and of the cities where mainly the members of the Italian TFA, Grosseto, Trapani and Gioia del Colle (BA) come from.

The event continued with the presentation of typical dishes of the local culture that were prepared and offered by the boys themselves.

This convivial moment was a precious parenthesis for the Italian military to be able to talk more deeply with these guys about their aspirations and their dreams.
