The Italian contingent of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC W) has made some donations in favor of a poor neighborhood of Herat and the village of Murghab, as part of civil and military cooperation projects.
The basic necessities delivered to elder - the elderly who in every community play a great role both socially and institutionally - consist of material for children, blankets, clothing for children and adults, health material, various food and toys that come thanks to the generous donation of the comprehensive institute of San Nicolo 'Gerrei (CA) and nursery and primary schools of Villasalto (CA) as well as numerous charitable organizations in Sardinia.
The donation ceremony, held in the presence of the commander of the TAAC-W, was also attended by some children filled with joy and disbelief at the time of the delivery of the toys.
"I am very grateful to the Italian people for the concrete help that has been given to my village over time - declared the elder of the village of Murghab - and that will surely allow us to overcome the winter with less worries. I have known Italians for many years: from them we received donations of basic necessities, medical assistance for our people and veterinary visits for our livestock".
The support to the population, in fact, is one of the activities that joins the main one of training and assistance to the Afghan Security Forces, primary focus of the mission of Resolute Support, and is carried out both directly with projects identified and conducted by the national contingent , and facilitating the distribution of humanitarian aid from national charitable organizations.
