In recent days, an Air Force C-130 aircraft took off from Pisa airport carrying 10 tons of foodstuffs (pasta, biscuits, flour, sauces) donated by a well-known Italian company and destined for the population of Lebanon.

The humanitarian operation, ordered by the defense staff, was directed by operational command of interforce forces (COVI) and is part of a broader international aid plan coordinated by the United Nations.

In these days, moreover, the Defense is operating in Lebanon, in close coordination with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), to plan the launch of health activities for the population and the LAF themselves, including the distribution of medicines and support physician provided through the use of military mobile health teams.

Italy is present in Lebanon with the UNIFIL mission of the United Nations (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) and with the bilateral mission MIBIL.
