On January 14, at the Ali Al Salem base, in Kuwait, with a symbolic handshake between the commanders of the two task group, the arrival at the Kuwaiti base of the Devil task group, which operates on aircraft Tornado of the 6th wing of Ghedi, and the simultaneous exit from the theater of Typhoon task group, operating on aircraft Euro Fighter of the fighter wings of the Italian Air Force.

During his redeployment in Kuwait, the Typhoon task group, which carried out surveillance and reconnaissance operations, has seen over time a continuous rotation of flight personnel and specialists from the 4th, 36th, 37th and 51st wing of the Air Force, together with support personnel from the various bodies of armed force distributed throughout the national territory. This ability to blend quickly and work together has brought about the task group to reach, in December 2023, the milestone of 8.000 hours of operational flight in that theatre.

The transfer of aircraft Tornado from Italy and the return of the EFA took place with a trail made up of KC-767As of the 14th wing for in-flight refueling, a strategic capability for the Air Force which allows it to extend the in-flight autonomy of aircraft assets.

For the aircraft Tornado it is a return to Kuwaiti theater. The Devil task group in fact, it has already been deployed in Kuwait, at the Al Jaber air base, from 2014 to 2016 and from 2020 to 2021, alternating with the AMX aircraft of Black Cats task group and the aircraft Euro Fighter of the Typhoon task group, totaling over 4000 flight hours over the years.

Established on 17 October 2014 to participate in the multinational operation Inherent Resolve, the IT NCC AIR guarantees unity of command and logistical support for the synergistic and coordinated use of the assets provided by the Air Force and, with the deployment of the SAMP/T task group, by the Italian Army within the Coalition.
