Kosovo: Religious condemn extremism and violence

Representatives of the main religious communities in Kosovo, the Mufti Ternava, head of the Islamic community, the Orthodox bishop Teodosje and the Catholic bishop Georgi met yesterday, at the headquarters of the Kfor headquarters in Pristina, General Salvatore Farina, commander of the mission multinational Born Kfor.

During the meeting it was discussed how much the presence of different religious communities in Kosovo represents a resource for society. They are the spiritual guides who teach to live in peace while respecting differences.

On this occasion the religious leaders in recognizing the right of all people to celebrate their faith and support the peaceful coexistence between different religious ethnic groups "strongly condemned those who invoke the name of God to carry out criminal acts against humanity, religions they do not justify hatred and violence. God is peace ".

"We call on our faithful to distance themselves from all forms of extremism and violence in order to support peace to guarantee a better future for our families and children", the religious leaders expressed at the end of their meeting with the general Flour.

Ternava, Teodosje and Georgi thanked the Kfor commander for his continued and effective commitment to security and dialogue in Kosovo.
