Kosovo: RC-W jointly patrols with the Kosovo Police

the Regional Command West KFOR continues to conduct joint patrols with the Kosovo Police, deploying aliquots of the multinational components of the Kinetic Battalion, in their respective areas of responsibility, dedicated to direct support of the Kosovo Police.

The operational activity is dedicated to supporting the Police Force in the control of vehicles and personnel in transit along the main communication routes and in the nerve centers of peripheral traffic, near the ABL (Administrative Bondary Line) present in the western sector of Kosovo. .

Joint patrolling is a routine operational tool focused on the mandate of KFOR, focused on persevering to ensure freedom of movement and a safe environment in Kosovo, in accordance with the operational framework contemplated by UN resolution 1244 of 1999. 

The Italian contingent, in particular, employs the 3rd squadron Ruffo of Calabria of the regiment Piedmont Cavalry (2nd) of the Army, framed in the Sierra COY, and the 3rd An-Nasiriyah Company of the Navy Brigade Saint Mark of the Navy, framed in Papa COY, which constantly carry out joint patrols with the Kosovo Police, in order to detect any illegal activities in progress.
