Kosovo: when sport unites

The football event called "Football4Fun", a five-a-side football match organized by the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), the unit of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) currently based on 62 ° infantry regiment "Sicily", in collaboration with the local Serbian communities.

It was a sport and leisure event, dedicated to young people, to allow them to spend a day together with the KFOR troops, thus consolidating relations between the population and those who work in Kosovo for the security, stabilization and progress of the whole the area.

The football competition, held at Camp "Villaggio Italia" headquarters of the MNBG -W, saw the soldiers of the Italian contingent of KFOR face each other, in an atmosphere of serenity and sporting fairness, and the youth representation of the village of Gorazdevac and Velica Hoca .

The event has clearly shown that sport has always been an instrument of aggregation between different cultures. Through this event, the Italian contingent of KFOR wanted to favor, once again, the extremely delicate process of stabilization and integration of Kosovo in full respect of every ethnic group and religious faith. The competition was also the umpteenth opportunity for Kosovar friends to spend a day of celebration in the company of the Italian military. The sporting event ended in favor of the team of Kosovar boys.

At the end of the meeting, the commander of the MNBG-W, col. Giovanni Giagheddu, presented the certificates of participation to the Kosovar friends. After the sporting event the participants continued the day celebrating together and tasting a good Italian pizza.
