Kosovo: the Protestant general chaplain of the Austrian armed forces visiting the Multinational Battle Group West

The Protestant general chaplain of the Austrian armed forces, dr. Karl Trauner visited Italy's Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) at the military base of "Villaggio Italia".

The chaplain general was received by the commander of the MNBG-W who underlined how his presence and the daily work, carried out by military chaplains, represents a message of strong closeness to all the military as a testimony of the spiritual support to the multinational contingent that gives always encourages dialogue between all religious representations in Kosovo, working daily to support peace, cooperation and economic and social progress in the territory.

The dr. Trauner expressed his gratitude to the multinational contingent which, with its presence in a delicate regional context characterized by divisions and oppositions, has guaranteed peace keeping for almost 18 years, striving to ensure that everyone can live in serenity and respect human values.

During his stay, the general chaplain visited the Orthodox Monastery of Decane and, subsequently, the Patriarchate and the cemetery of Pec / Pea.

The Multinational Battle Group West by KFOR, based on 3 ° mountain artillery regiment of the Alpine "Julia" brigade, is composed of about 650 soldiers from 4 nations (Austria, Italy, Moldavia and Slovenia) and works to ensure freedom of movement and a stable and secure environment for the entire population of western Kosovo, regardless of ethnic and religious differences. In this way it contributes to the consolidation of peace and stability in the region, to the process of civil growth and to the development of local institutions.
