Kosovo: "Field Security Operation" tutorial

The Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), unit of Kosovo Force (KFOR) with Italian leadership based on 32 ° wagon regiment led, at the base "Villaggio Italia", a cycle of exercises called "Field Security Operation", times to assess the level of operational capacity and interoperability between KFOR's multinational components.

The exercises carried out with the involvement of Italian, Slovenian and Austrian soldiers of the MNBG-W in joint activity with the staff of the Joint Regional Detachment Center and South (JRD-C and JRD-S), showed the high level of training achieved in the face and manage high risk situations.

The activities, characterized by a very high degree of realism, were aimed at verifying the training level reached by the departments involved, with a view to ever greater multinational harmony.

The operational efficiency, which is achieved through constant training and amalgamation between the various components, is an important task of KFOR, and in particular of the MNBG-W which, in its area of ​​competence, must guarantee freedom of movement and ensure the security and stability.

The soldiers of the MNBG-W have simulated an extraction activity, for safety reasons, of JRD personnel from their offices in the territory in a non-permissive environment. The activity ended successfully and in accordance with the set objectives, enhancing the high operating standards.

4000 soldiers of 30 Countries, of which 550 Italians are organized on a Multinational Battle Group, Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) of the Carabinieri, and a Joint Regional Detachment (JRD) all participate in the NATO operation.
