the Regional Command West (RC-W) continues to operate in Western Kosovo through its multinational components, in guaranteeing freedom of movement and safeguarding citizenship, within the operational framework established by UN resolution 1244, which regulates the Joint Enterprise mission.

The operations are developed both through patrol activities, coordinated with the Kosovar institutions, and through the use on the ground of the so-called Liaison Monitoring Team (LMT).

The LMTs are specialized and specially trained units to maintain constant contact with the civil society of the Kosovar context. They interact directly with the local population, with the social services and with the municipal institutions, in order to be able to consider any problem that may be of importance or reveal itself as a social discomfort, and therefore compromise in some way the safety and tranquility of the environment .

The Italian contingent of RC-W currently deploys several teams, which daily interface with the social realities of the Municipality of Peja/Pec.

These are specialized units, made up of personnel from different departments of the Italian Army, belonging to the regiment Piedmont Cavalry (2nd), al Multinational Cimic Group of Motta di Livenza and the 28th "Pavia" regiment stationed in Pesaro.

These teams of experts, effectively capturing and representing the public perceptions of the moment, implement projects of military civil cooperation (CIMIC) that are necessary to further increase the social development of western Kosovo and promote interculturality as a key to social wealth, given by the different ethnic groups living together.
