KFOR: the Italian operating company engaged for over a month in the north of Kosovo

La Italian operating company a guide 132 ° wagon regiment of Cordenons (PN), under the Multinational Battle Group West of KFOR (Kosovo Force), has recently concluded its employment in the northern municipalities, with a Serb majority, where the main effort of the mission is concentrated.

The unit, made up of Italian soldiers and a small Moldovan component, was deployed for an entire month at the "Nothing Hill" advanced base, the most northern outpost of KFOR in Kosovo, effectively contributing to the maintenance of the general climate of security and freedom of movement. The tankers conducted activities in support of local police forces, patrolling the most sensitive areas and monitoring communication routes.

The company has returned to Camp Village Italy and will now continue to carry out the tasks assigned to the Italian-led multinational unit, which also sees the participation of Slovenian, Austrian and Moldovan assets.

Il Multinational Battle Group West, responsible for the entire western sector of Kosovo, has as its main task the preservation and protection of the Visoki Decani monastery, a Serbian-Orthodox place of worship which since 2004 is part of the cultural heritage protected by UNESCO.
