IRAQ: NATO Mission leaders visit the Federal Police School

Yesterday morning, Lieutenant General Aguero Martinez and Brigadier General Nicola Piasente, respectively commander and chief of staff of the NATO Mission in Iraq, visited the School where Federal Police recruits are trained, with the contribution provided by the Carabinieri Italians of Mobile Training Team.

Spanish General Aguero Martinez met with the general commander of the Iraqi Federal Police, Lieutenant General Salih Nasir Mushim Al Amisi, together with the commanders of the various special units of the Police, the director of training of the Federal Police and the commander of the School. Also present at the meeting was Lieutenant Colonel of the Carabinieri Luca Simonetti, commander of the mobile training team of the force.

During the visit, all the training activities of the various Federal Police Schools were illustrated, including the Academies, indicating the study path followed by the students, underlining in particular the decades-long contribution of Italy in the training of students provided by the 'Carabinieri weapon.

The visit continued in the various training areas within the Institute, with practical demonstrations and theoretical lessons, held by the recruits and instructors, trained through the course Train the Trainers, recently activated by the Carabinieri team.

From the classrooms of the teaching section, where refresher activities were underway for general officers and lessons on humanitarian law for students, we moved on to field exercises which involved multiple activities, involving over 1000 students: physical education (martial arts and personal defense), war routes, shooting exercises, raids on homes, arrests, disposal of explosive devices, public order, checks at checkpoints.

The general commander of the Iraqi Federal Police highlighted his commitment to training operational components made up of female personnel.
