Iraq (Erbil): completed the first training course for the Kurdish forces

The Italian military instructors of the "Erbil" Task Force operating within the Kurdish Training Coordination Center (KTCC) multinational Command, concluded a cycle of training activities lasting 20 days in favor of the Peshmerga.

The KTCC, currently under Italian leadership, is engaged by English, German, Dutch and Norwegian, who have completed the formation of 2 Battaglioni Peshmerga, located in different training areas.

The training activity ended with exercises that certified the acquisition of full operational capacity both for the planning of the Battalion Command level and for the conduct of military operations in different operating environments.

A new training cycle is already underway and should start at the end of July.

The Kurdish Training Coordination Center, currently composed of about 500 men and women belonging to 5 Nations, has trained since January last about 2500 units of Kurdish security forces. The Italian instructors contributed to the training of 1200 Peshmerga, with regard to basic infantry training, the use of the "Folgore" anti-tank weapon system, the procedures against improvised explosive devices (counter - IED) and the training with portable weapons, with artillery and mortars.
