Today, Brigadier General Paolo Attilio Fortezza, commander of the Italian contingent in Iraq, was the last man to leave the US base in Baghdad and complete the temporary redeployment of the Italian military to the Iraqi operational theater, as foreseen in the contingency plans for safeguarding the staff employed.
In compliance with the security measures, which are decided at international coalition level in coordination with the various partner nations, the device will be reorganized to resume and to complete the activities foreseen by the mandate.
