Iraq: 5000 flight hours for the Albatros Task Group

On the occasion of the visit of the commander of IT NCC AIR and Task Force Air Kuwait, Colonel Luca Giuseppe Vitaliti, from 2 to 5 February 2021, the Task Group Albatros, commanded by Major Chiara P., celebrated the important milestone of 5000 hours of the EC-27J "JEDI" of the Air Force flown since 10 August 2016 in support of Operation "Inherent Resolve" (OIR) in Iraq, equivalent to approximately 210 days of uninterrupted coverage of the skies of Iraq, achieved after over 1000 sorties flown against the DAESH threat.

Task Group staff Albatros it is made up of men and women of the Air Force who compete to express a unique ability of its kind by profiling the best traditions of air transport and electronic warfare.

The EC-27J JEDI (Jamming and Electronic Defense Instrumentation) of the Air Force is the Electronic Warfare variant of the Alenia C-27J transport aircraft Spartan.
