After being greeted by the KFOR honor guard, the president and COMKFOR had a private interview in which they discussed the latest developments concerning security and the socio-economic situation in Kosovo. The president also received a briefing on the most important activities KFOR is currently carrying out.
During the meeting, President Jahjaga and General Figliuolo agreed on the importance of achieving normalization through a comprehensive approach involving representatives of the international community through dialogue and cooperation.

President Jahjaga stressed the important role that KFOR plays in ensuring and maintaining a safe and stable environment throughout Kosovo and in building bridges between the various communities.
“Kosovo - said the president - has built a democratic and welcoming society and works to promote peace and stability throughout the region. Kosovo is today a vibrant democracy that is building good neighborly relations and engaging in the normalization process with Serbia. We remain focused on the dialogue on the implementation of the agreement reached in Brussels, which facilitates people's lives, normalizes relations between two countries and brings them closer to Euro-Atlantic integration ", concluded President Jahjaga.
"The stabilization process - the general Figliuolo commented - is proceeding in the right direction, for this reason KFOR will continue to guarantee its commitment until the effects of the agreement are irreversible".
The meeting was an opportunity to underline once again the excellent collaboration between KFOR and the Kosovo institutions. General Figliuolo and President Jahjaga have agreed that this collaboration will continue in the future also because it is particularly appreciated by the people of Kosovo.
