The Minister of Defense of Slovenia visiting the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) of KFOR

Minister of Defense of Slovenia Andreja Katič today visited the Italian-led Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), based on the 3rd Mountain Artillery Regiment of the Alpine Brigade Julia.

The commander of the multinational contingent, Colonel Enzo Ceruzzi, welcomed the minister at the military base of Villaggio Italia and during the meeting he provided a point of view on the activities in progress in the western sector of Kosovo connected to the mandate of the 1244 resolution of the United Nations Security Council.

In particular, the commander underlined the importance of the synergy between the four contingents that make up the MNBG-W (Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Moldova) aimed at guaranteeing the security of the Decane Monastery and monitoring the freedom of movement in the area of ​​competence .

At the end of the meeting, the Slovenian minister expressed words of appreciation for the meritorious work carried out by the multinational contingent of KFOR, highlighting the success and high profile of the mission.

The Multinational Battle Group West, currently consists of about 650 men and women and since last December has performed about 1500 foot patrols, about 6500 observation posts and almost 3000 motorized patrols totaling over 170.000 kilometers traveled.
