General Graziano meets the new commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Joseph Aoun

"The Italian and Lebanese Armed Forces are linked by a solid and ancient relationship", this is the message that emerged from today's meeting of General Claudio Graziano, Chief of Defense Staff and General Joseph Aoun recently appointed commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

During the meeting the two senior officers discussed the security environment in Lebanon and the new threats to international security.

During the talks, the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries working closely in southern Lebanon were confirmed, where an Italian contingent of blue helmets operates under the UNIFIL operation.

The Lebanese defense chief of staff, in particular, thanked General Graziano for the excellent training work that the Italian military is conducting in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces in the framework of the Italian bilateral Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL).
