General Mushroom gives the command of KFOR to General Cuoci

"Success was achieved by opening our bases to the local population"With these words the commander of Kosovo Force (KFOR) has been dismissed by his military and civilian personnel and by all the local and international guests intervening in the command-control warrant.

The transfer of deliveries between the general of division John Fungo and his successor and parish priest Salvatore Cuoci took place during a charming ceremony held at Camp Film City headquarters of the mission headquarters in Kosovo.

The event was attended by Admiral James Foggo, Commander of the Joint Force Command Naples, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, team admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, commander of the Interoperable Summit Operations Command and many other civil, military, religious and diplomatic authorities.

A long and intense period, lasting more than 450 days, which in the name of the Trust and Commitment motto has seen many achievements both in the field of work and in the training, with particular attention to cooperation with local institutions and international organizations operating in the territory. These successes were emphasized by Admiral James Foggo who added "General Mushroom was an innovator and a far-sighted commander. With his great determination he inspired and led his staff".

In his discourse speech, General Fungo wanted to emphasize "professionalism, commitment and absolute dedication"Of the staff to its dependencies that made it possible to achieve the goals set. He also thanked representatives of local institutions for receiving support and finally expressed to his successor the best wishes for this important task.

Under the authority of the United Nations, NATO from 12 June 1999 is conducting a peace support operation in Kosovo with the task of contributing to the stability and security of the region, ensuring freedom of movement and assisting local institutions in development and growth. Today, KFOR is composed of just over 4000 military units belonging to different 28 nations operating in units of intent under the careful and meticulous guidance of an Italian commander.
