General Ceravolo assumes the post of Deputy Commander at the CJFLCC

Today, General Francesco Maria Ceravolo, already commander of the 'Italian National Contingent Command - Land (IT NCC-L), took on the role of Deputy Commander for Training at Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command (CJFLCC) based in Baghdad.

The senior Italian officer will head the coalition structure responsible for training the Iraqi security forces (ISF) and Kurdish (KSF) as well as the federal and local police forces essential for the establishment of the so-called Hold Forces necessary to guarantee the frame of security in the territories liberated by the Islamic State.

General Ceravolo will be in charge of five training centers located in Iraq and in the autonomous region of Kurdistan and in the coming days he will visit all the training sites in Iraq in order to verify the training capabilities provided by the Coalition countries.

The CJFLCC is commanded by Major General Joseph M. Martin and is part of a broad coalition that includes 60 nations, committed to providing military support to counter the Islamic State.
