General Breedlove meets the KFOR military

Il Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), General Philip Breedlove went to the headquarters of the NATO mission in Pristina and the operating bases of Kosovo Force (KFOR).

During the meeting, Division General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta and the international staff of the KFOR command presented General Breedlove with the current operating situation and outlined progress in the security situation in Kosovo.

General Breedlove, for his part, recalled the importance of KFOR in the delicate and complex Balkan context and the need to "continue to promote dialogue day by day in the region as well."

During a meeting with the KFOR militiamen, General Breedlove, addressing General Miglietta, who led the NATO mission from August, praised the work of the over 5000 men and women (of different countries) who daily contribute to the normalization process of Kosovo and the Balkan area.

During his visit, General Breedlove, accompanied by General Miglietta, had the opportunity to meet the ambassadors of the "Quint" of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States as well as the UNMIK, OSCE, EU and of the International Monetary Fund.

The visit of the general ended with a visit to the Orthodox monastery of Decane where, accompanied by General Miglietta, he met Father Sava, abbot of the monastery who from the 2004 is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here the religious live in a "security bubble", guaranteed by the Italian-led multinational contingent of KFOR, and express gratitude to Italy and the international community.
