The level of attention and operational readiness of Italian soldiers framed in the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC W) is always high, and all its components maintain maximum efficiency, taking care of their training in detail even in the operating theater.

This is the premise with which today the Italian military contingent in Herat has carried out a complex medical evacuation exercise (Aeromedical Evacuation), which has seen the involvement of special forces, of the "Rangers" regiment, rotary wing structures of the task force "Fenice", sanitary facilities for emergency transport and a hospital surgical team Role 2, areal security features of the task force "Arena" of the 5 "Aosta" infantry regiment, and personnel of the Air Force in charge of civil air traffic monitoring at Herat Airport.

The exercise saw a phase of planning and coordination between the components, and was constantly monitored by the TAAC West Joint Operations Center.

The training was conducted without warning, in order to respect the adherence to a possible real situation, and it was successfully completed and within the set time frame: elements for which the commander of TAAC W, general Mauro D'Ubaldi, and the deputy commander colonel (USA) Steven Lutsky, expressed great satisfaction.
