The commander of the multinational force in Kosovo, division general Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, met with "NATO's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security", His Excellency Marriet Schuurman.

During the meeting, held at "Camp Film City" headquarters of the mission, many issues related to the safety of the area and the importance of respect for gender diversity (gender perspective) were addressed in the activities carried out by men and women of KFOR.

"In the KFOR mission, the gender perspective is an important guideline for the conduct of our activities. The gender perspective is in fact perfectly integrated in all decision-making processes since, besides being our priority, a clear factor has been found success, "said General Figliuolo.

All the daily activities carried out by the military in Kosovo see men and women equally involved, as in the Liason Monitoring Teams (LMT) structures, delegated to deal daily with the local political, social and religious authorities. The ability to face and examine every situation from the gender point of view it facilitates a more comprehensive collection of information and a better definition of the situation in which one operates, also in terms of security, contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the mission.
