The commander of KFOR meets the chief of staff of the defense of Albania

The NATO commander, Kosovo Force (KFOR), division general Salvatore Farina, received today, for the first time, in the multinational headquarters "Film City", the Chief of Staff of the Defense of Albania, General Jeronim BAZO.

During the meeting, the commander of KFOR presented the current operational situation, highlighting the great improvement achieved in the security sector in all areas of Kosovo, after the agreement between Pristina and Belgrade signed by the parties on April 19 last year. year and confirmed the ongoing effort of the NATO mission in Kosovo to support peace, cooperation and progress across the country.

"This important result", underlined General FARINA, "is the direct effect and consequence of the standardization process, still under way, started last year".

"The situation is currently calm and stable throughout the territory under my responsibility and jurisdiction", added General Farina, "KFOR's multinational staff is present throughout Kosovo and the north remains the main focus of KFOR's attention ".

The meeting is part of a wider agenda of periodic appointments with representatives of the armed forces of the neighboring countries of Albania, FYROM, Montenegro and Serbia.

The commander of KFOR and the chief of staff of the Albanian Defense, General BAZO, agreed on the importance of the regional approach to security and pledged to promote a conference on security cooperation in the area.

At the end of the meeting, General Farina expressed to the general BAZO words of appreciation for the professionalism of the Albanian staff employed in the staff of the KFOR headquarters.
