The American general Joseph Anderson, commander of the "Joint Command of the International Security Assistance Force" (ISAF), the multinational force that operates from the 2001 in Afghanistan on mandate of the United Nations, visited in recent days the Italian-led command in Herat.

On his arrival, General Anderson was received by Army Corps General Maurizio Angelo Scardino, commander of the "Train Advise Assist Command West" (TAAC-W), the Italian-led multinational command on a "Garibaldi" Bersaglieri brigade base, which he accompanied him to Piazza delle Bandiere where he met the multinational representatives of TAACW.

The senior official expressed his appreciation to all the TAAC-W, which although it is made up of contingents of different nationalities, has shown unity of purpose in achieving all the objectives assigned.

General Anderson then met with the commander of the provincial command of police in Herat, General Bahsodi, and then went to Camp Zafar, where he met the commander of the 207 army corps of the Afghan army, General Jahed.

At the end of the visit, before returning to its headquarters in Kabul, the commander of IJC conferred the title of "Honorary Sky Dragon" to General Scardino, who reciprocated by naming him "adheremary bersagliere" of the bersaglieri brigade "Garibaldi".
