The commander of the NATO Joint Force Command of Naples visits KFOR

Kosovo Force commander, division general Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, today received Admiral Mark E. Ferguson III, commander of the Joint Force Command Naples visiting NATO forces in Kosovo.

During the visit Admiral Ferguson and General Figliuolo met Kosovo's Interior Minister, Skender Hyseni, with whom they deepened the theme of KFOR's relationship with the Kosovo Police receiving from the minister words of profound appreciation for the work of the men and women of NATO in Kosovo and the hope that collaboration can continue in the future.

The commander of JFCN and COMKFOR were also received by the EULEX deputy head of mission, Joelle Vachter, with whom they elaborated on a series of topics relating to security, in particular the efficiency of the Kosovo Police and the judicial system. The admiral has also paid particular attention to the path that will lead to the establishment of the Special Court. Mrs. Vachter confirmed to Admiral Ferguson that the relations between EULEX and KFOR have never been so profitable.

During his stay at the KFOR Mission Headquarters, at the Camp Film City base, General Figliuolo and his international staff updated the JFCN commander about the operational situation and the state of security in Kosovo. The admiral has confirmed KFOR's current commitment in the near future.

The visit ended with a meeting with the ambassadors in Kosovo of the countries of Quint, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, France and the United States of America, and with the head of the UNMIK mission. During this last meeting, the crucial role that KFOR plays in the Balkan context, in the promotion of regional cooperation and dialogue, in the implementation of the Brussels agreements was highlighted.
