The 13 last March, following preventive contacts between the deputy commander of the Kurdistan Training Coordination Center (KTCC) and the commander of the Griffon Task Group with the major general Asez Waisi, commander of the Zeravani, the first course dedicated to the use of helicopters in military operations took place in the training center of Benslawa.

About 300 students participated in the activity, which included the illustration of the basic procedures for the cooperation between infantry and rotary wing component.
Among the topics dealt with, it was particularly appreciated that relating to ground, night and daytime signaling methods, for the indication of a "landing zone" or landing zone and that related to the recovery of injured personnel in the event of a medical evacuation ( MEDEVAC).

Some extraction techniques of military and civilians blocked inside a wreck were also presented (for example, following a "heavy" landing).

The activity is one of those that Italian trainers have been carrying out in Iraq since January 2014 and that has led to the formation of more than 8000 Peshmergas by our instructors in the Kurdistan Training Coordination Center.
