the Sector West of Unifil hosted today, in the base "Millevoi" of Shama, the women's cooperatives of South Lebanon.
The local women entrepreneurs have exhibited their craft products in a special area made available to them by the Italian contingent.
The activity, organized by the Civil Affair of Unifil in coordination with the Civil and Military Cooperation Cell of the Sector West, wanted to offer the nascent Lebanese female entrepreneurship the opportunity to introduce their products to the blue helmets operating in the area.
The exhibition was opened by General Ugo Cillo, commander of the Sector, who underlined the importance of the day and the increasingly growing successes that women's businesses are having in southern Lebanon.
This result, underlined General Cillo, is also due to the results achieved by the 1701 Resolution which provides, among the tasks, support to the local population.
The exhibition area, set up with Christmas themes, was created by the military of the Combat Service Support Battalion currently in charge of the “Pozzuolo del Friuli” logistics regiment.
The current mission in Lebanon is entrusted to the cavalry brigade "Pozzuolo del Friuli", in its fifth mandate in the land of the cedars.
