The carabinieri and the army artillery team conclude training of the Kurdish security forces

The Carabinieri of the military police of the Italian contingent of Erbil, for three weeks trained about 20 agents of Kurdish agents in charge of airport security on police techniques aimed at preventing and combating possible acts of terrorism.

The training allowed the Kurdish police to acquire the skills in shooting techniques and protection of the infrastructure, in the organization of checkpoints and vehicle control, in the control of suspects, in the search activity and in handcuffing and in techniques of research, irruption and reaction to fire.

At the same time the instructors of the A&A team (Advise and Assist) of the Italian contingent have concluded a training course in favor of 13 Kurdish artillery, lasting about a week, on the observation of artillery shooting and on the knowledge of the C-IED procedures (against improvised explosive devices) and another course in favor of 12 Zeravani (gendarmi curdi, ed) on the use of portable weapons for precision shooting (sniper course).

Meanwhile, the Italian military trainers, coordinated and directed by the KTCC Multinational Command (Kurdish Training Coordination Center), since last November 21 are training about 220 Peshmerga (8th infantry battle course), at the request of the Kurdish representatives of the MoP (Ministry of Peshmerga).

The training cycle of the total duration of 5 weeks includes multiple activities such as individual combat training, knowledge of the C-IED procedures (against improvised explosive devices), the use of the 60mm mortar, first aid, planning and the conduct of defensive and offensive tactical activities in different operating environments and in particular situations such as in population centers.
