(To Greater Defense)
25/08/15

The second training course started today at the National Training Center located in Southern Lebanon Crowd Control (Crowd and Riot Control, CRC) to qualify the personnel of the Lebanese armed forces (Lebanese Armed Forces, LAF).

The course is developed by the military of the carabinieri, coming from the training center of the 2 ^ Mobile Brigade and from the 7 ° Regiment Trentino Alto Adige. The goal is to train instructors for crowd management and riot control techniques.

The course is part of the Bilateral Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), deployed by 28 January with the task of organizing, conducting and coordinating all national training and consulting activities in order to contribute to the capacitive strengthening of the armed forces security forces (LAF).

The activity of the Arma instructors is aimed at the personnel of the Lebanese security forces who have already successfully attended the first course and will consist of four weeks of theoretical and practical lessons. Some of the topics concern the study of the fundamental principles concerning human rights and crowd psychology, and, for the practical aspects, the use of equipment (provided by the General Command of the Carabinieri) used in public order activities (shields, personal protections , tonfa, masks, anti-gas etc.). Attendees will have to demonstrate that they are able to instruct other soldiers in the difficult task of facing the most difficult situations of disturbance of public order, such as crowd control and work in organized and coordinated teams.

The future instructors will finally be evaluated through tests of ascertaining their abilities, both in an intermediate phase and in a final.
