Special Forces: In Niger they train the National Guard

The advanced first aid course in a non-permissive hostile environment called "Special Medical Combat Responder", completed by the Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Bilateral Support Mission in Niger (MISIN), was concluded in recent days. of the Intervention and Security Group (GIS) of the National Guard of the Republic of Niger (GNN).

The commander of MISIN, Brigadier General Claudio Dei, at the end of the educational activities, attended the closing ceremony, in which the students carried out an exercise related to the theoretical-practical notions acquired during the course.

The Italian trainers, based on the 185th RAO "Folgore" Paratrooper Regiment of the Italian Army, covered various topics over the six didactic weeks, dedicated to the theoretical-practical aspects of the course, including:
- basic notions regarding the human body, with particular attention to the skeletal, respiratory and cardiovascular apparatus;
- various pathologies and their diagnosis of clinical medicine;
- treatment of the wounded 72 hours after a traumatic event;
- tactical part during the care of the wounded, on different types of scenarios in which students will have to apply tactical knowledge and medical first aid knowledge;
- the application of the MARCH algorithm (M-massive hemorrhage, A-airway, R-respiratory, C-circulation, and H-hypothermia) which is applied internationally as a step to be followed in first aid in a non-permissive hostile environment ( Tactical Combat Casualty Care).
