It ended in the presence of Dr. Albagir Adam, head of theCivil Affairs Office by UNIFIL and the Deputy Mayor of Tiro Dr. Salah Sabraoui the basic training course for the municipal police of Tire carried out by the staff of the Carabinieri Corps employed at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura.
The carabinieri of the Special Investigation and Forensic Unit, employed in the context of the UNIFIL mission for activities of a forensic nature and international military police, took care of and prepared an intense week of training for the municipal police of Tire and the cities of Marjayoun and Naqoura, for a total of 21 agents of Police.
The course, particularly appreciated by the policemen, was focused on the activities of belting, intervention and detection at the crime scene, on the performance of vehicle control activities (check points) and on the techniques of breaking into urban and control buildings and handcuffing of suspicions.
The Carabinieri team has in fact prepared a logical thread that connected all the lessons starting from the discovery of a corpse followed by the necessary actions on the spot, the consequent search for the offender with the implementation of checkpoints and the subsequent identification at the inside a building in which to break in to proceed with the capture. The lessons, alternated in theoretical parts in the classroom and practical parts outside, thanks to the logical and almost cinematographic thread that united them, particularly involved the students who at the end of the training week wanted to express to their Italian colleagues all their respect for the commitment and attention given to them.
Maj. Dei Carabinieri Francesco MARETTO, Force Provost Marshal of UNIFIL, pointed out that the Arma dei Carabinieri carries out training tasks in favor of foreign police forces both in Italy and directly at their training areas. These activities in LEBANON are important because they help to ensure that the levels of efficiency of the local security forces are increased in line with other activities carried out by Italian peacekeepers for the benefit of the Lebanese Armed Forces.
