The Italian blue helmets of the UNIFIL mission have inaugurated an infrastructure project for the Tire mosque, in the context of cooperation with the civil and religious authorities of the southern capital city.
The intervention, carried out with Italian funds and under the supervision of the military of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC), made it possible to equip the two main entrances of the mosque with covered corridors, functional for the outflow and perfectly integrated with the aesthetic canons of the main place of worship in the city.
The effort of the Italian blue helmets was particularly appreciated and recognized by the Lebanese authorities who attended the inauguration.
Cooperation with local authorities and support for the civilian population are among the fundamental tasks that the brigade mountain troops Taurinense, carry out daily in close collaboration with the Lebanese community, favoring the success of the operational activities that the Italian blue helmets carry out without interruption to monitor the cessation of hostility in southern Lebanon and complete functionality in the area of the Lebanese armed forces.
