The first Counter-Sniping course for the Lebanese Armed Forces concluded

(Lebanon) In recent days the instructors of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) have concluded the first Counter-Sniping course in favor of personnel belonging to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

The training was carried out by a joint mobile training unit (MTT) consisting of instructor personnel belonging to the 186 regiment of the Folgore paratroopers and to the 8 regiment of the Bersaglieri brigade Garibaldi.

Among the goers, for the first time, soldiers of the regiments of rapid intervention of the Lebanese security forces.

The activity, which lasted four weeks, was aimed at getting the military to acquire adequate training for shooting with targets placed at medium and long distance.

Furthermore, during the practical phase, specific activities were carried out aimed at the use of shooters chosen in the "Counter-Sniping" context, such as the use in different scenarios (urban, desert and forest) and the occult approach movement.

At the ceremony of delivery of attendance certificates, chaired by the commander of MIBIL - Colonel Andrea Monti - took part the commander of the West Sector of UNIFIL, Brigadier General Salvatore Cuoci, the deputy director of the training of the LAF, Brigadier General Ibrahim Harfosh and the commander of the 5 brigade, brigadier general Afif Saleh, along with other staff officers.
