Welcome by the brigade commander Pinerolo Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, through the use of the communication systems of the digitized command posts of Forza NEC (Network Enabled Capability), assisted in all phases of the fire maneuver conducted in a synchronized manner by two units of tactical group level multiple weapons simultaneously trained in two distinct areas about 200 kilometers apart, the pinnacle of the entire activity.
In addressing the Italian contingent, after reporting the closeness of the Defense Minister, Admiral Cavo Dragone said he "especially proud to be the Chief of Defense when the Armed Forces are represented by women and men like you" adding that today "You have sent an extremely strong, meaningful, profound message of professionalism and efficiency towards our Allies". The chief of staff then concluded by renewing his applause for what was seen during today's exercise, stating that the Italian task force has "proved that Italy has a defense that is second to none".
The Italian and Bulgarian and NATO political and military leaders took part in the final activity. whether the Ambassador of Italy in Sofia, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Chief of the Defense Staff of Bulgaria, the Chief of Staff of the NATO Allied Land Comand and the military attaché of Italy.
The complex activity eVA '23 brought together the exercises of Deployment/Redeployment which began on May 30 and will end on July 25; from 19 June to 07 July were conducted in a consequential manner Command Post Exercise (CPX) which led to the Live Fire Exercise (LFX) conducted in a digitized environment.
More than 1800 soldiers were deployed in the multinational exercise between the logistical and operational components. Seven participating countries are Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Montenegro and the USA.
The tactical groups exercised on the ground were set up by Multinational Battle Group Bulgaria, based on the 7th Bersaglieri regiment, and the 38th battalion of the 2nd mechanized brigade of the Bulgarian Armed Forces. The two units were supported by a Aviation Battalion with CH 47 helicopters of the 1st Army Aviation Regiment "Antares".
The brigade command Pinerolo, integrated with highly specialized assets from throughout the Armed Forces, has demonstrated its ability to perform all operational functions simultaneously on five Battle Group conducting operations full spectrum.
Of particular relevance were the results produced in the field which highlighted how the large combat unit of Digitized Media Force (FOMED), thanks to the synergy between systems and means allows to obtain a flow of communications between Digitized Command Posts (geolocated navigation, formatted messages, management of observation, identification and engagement of targets), with the consequent real-time knowledge of the friendly and enemy tactical situation.
